Hardware Sentry Packages

The Hardware Sentry packages are available on:

•the BMC Software EPD Web site, in the folder Sentry Software Monitoring and Analytics for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager 1.8.00 > Sentry Hardware Monitoring version 1.8.00 > Hardware Sentry KM for PATROL version 1.8.00 or directly under BMC Performance Manager for Hardware by Sentry Software according to the license you have acquired.

•the Sentry Software Web site.

There are three packages, each of which can be used to install the KM on every PATROL component (Agent, Console, etc.) according to the platform you are using.

•For Windows systems: mshw_WINDOWS_1800.zip

•For UNIX and Linux systems: mshw_UNIX_1800.tar

•For OpenVMS systems: mshw_VMS_1800.tar

Java Runtime Environment Package

Java Runtime Environment version 1.5.00 or higher is required in some cases for the KM to operate properly (notably when the KM needs to make WBEM or SSH connections).

A package of a suitable Java Runtime Environment, designed for use with the BMC Software Installation Utility, is made available to download on:

•the Sentry Software Web site.

You can optionally install this package along with the Hardware Sentry KM package. The KM will be able to leverage either this instance of the Java Runtime Environment or another installed separately on the system.
